Golden Gate Park Events Poster

The goal of this project was to create a typographic system that could be used on posters promoting the October events at Golden Gate Park.

This is a project that every junior at SFSU completes. The final prints line the halls of the School of Design, and I had walked past them every day for years. As a designer I noticed that every single poster used the same modular text layout. When it was my turn to take on the project, I knew this was my opportunity to create a poster that would stand out.

This poster design features a non-traditional typography layout that makes reference to the people & streets surrounding the park. Other students call it the ‘typographic waterfall’ poster. It was specifically inspired by my endless drives around Golden Gate Park; mindlessly searching through every layer of street to find just one parking spot.
Research
